Tiro staff had another exciting week and a half scouting competitions, evaluating international school programs, and building relationships in Europe. Between three staff members, we were able to visit events and schools in Denmark, Sweden, England, Switzerland, and Belgium.
In Denmark, we met with the Copenhagen International School (CIS) and met a member of local club Sundby. On the same weekend, we traveled to Malmö, Sweden (only 40 minutes by train), where we met with Bladins International School. The schools are keen to cooperate for an event that can offer an opportunity to players all over Scandinavia. Several Danish and Swedish cities are within a few hours' travel.
Next, the Tiro team headed to Switzerland to watch an inter-squad scrimmage at Zürich International School (ZIS), and attend the ESC tournament in Zug, and the Swiss Invitational Tournament in Zürich (organized as an alternative to the canceled ISST hub event in Munich).
These events proved fruitful as our staff was able to identify several talented players and connect with many international school soccer programs. Switzerland is not only a hub for international schools, but also centrally located in Europe, and a high priority location for a Tiro Sports College Soccer ID Camp
As a way to evaluate the talent at the event, we created Best XI teams for each of the events. [see photos] Please visit our social media page and feel free to tag individual players in the comments. Furthermore, the results of these tournaments offer automatic qualification for ISZL and ZIS Boys to our Tiro Sports International School World Cup to be held in Boston in June 2022.
From Switzerland, staff traveled to Belgium for the second day of the ISST Hub tournament held at the British School of Brussels. That beautiful venue was host to some very entertaining knockout round games.
Next, our staff attended Day 1 of the American School of London soccer tournament and met up with 14 Tiro players from the most recent tour of the US where the players competed in the San Diego Surf Cup.
There were some great individual performances from Tiro players and some thrilling matches with some great team play. There were also some new players of interest from all the participating teams who played very well and who we look forward to welcoming to upcoming Tiro camps and tours.
The results of each tournament we attended are listed below. Our Tiro Sports International School Top 25 (Soccer) Rankings will surely be impacted by these recent performances. Keep an eye out for a new release coming soon!
